There's nothing worse than hosting a movie night or cocktail party without enough seating. One guest ends up in a dining chair at the edge of the fray while another is relegated to the floor. Thankfully, there's the design wonder that is the sectional sofa. The L-shaped seating can typically be configured to be as big or small as you like, ensuring there's room for everyone—and then some.
In accessories designer Fiona Kotur's Hong Kong house, the sitting room’s custom-made sectional sofa is dressed in a Designtex fabric, with pillows of a Lee Jofa solid and a Kelly Wearstler for Groundworks print; Kotur designed the cocktail table, which is clad in basketweave-pattern copper tile by Maya Romanoff, the 1950s palm-tree lamp is by Jansen, and the vintage Moroccan carpet is from Woven Accents.
Probably the only thing I might change if I had total control is I tend more towards warm grays than cool. Our walls, which are Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray, are my favorite – light gray with some warm tones – and our kitchen cabinets are a darker warm gray. The gray blue of the sectional really is beautiful (and actually complements our marble in the kitchen really well). I think it will be a very forgiving color: light enough to help the room feel bright (remember one of my goals?), but dark enough to hide the inevitable grime of young kids.
Shape Selection: Sectional sofas with chaise are mostly in L shape. But there are also other shapes available such as round shape or I shape. The shape you should choose depends on the area you will place the sectional sofas. If you want to place sectional sofas in the corner; L shaped sectional sofa is the most suitable one. Because L shaped sofa allows you to fill the corner in your room.
If you want to place the sofa in the middle of the room; round shaped sectional sofa will be suitable. While the symmetrical shaped sectional sofa with chaise is suitable to be placed in middle of small room. But you need to consider symmetrical shape of your room.
