If you’re a fan of pattern play, go for it! Gray is a super-friendly neutral, after all. High-contrast patterns, like the black-and-white wallpaper pictured here, will help to bring out the dark and light tones in your sofa’s shade of gray. Just be sure to stick to a general color palette when mixing patterns so your look doesn’t feel too chaotic.
So I set out with two main goals for this living room makeover: add more (and more efficient) seating AND create a light, bright feel. And the key to this space was actually not smaller furniture, but bigger furniture… Crazy, right?
Designer Alicia Murphy used a sectional in the living room of a teensy trailer she converted into a plush family getaway in Montauk, New York, for this very reason: "If you were to use a sofa and a chair, you would have about 36” of dead space in the corner—but by using a sectional you give that corner life. You most likely will add seating for two or three more people if you use a corner sectional rather than a sofa and chair."
Don’t Hesitate to Play with Patterns: Patterns can be intimidating and might make your living room looks crowded. However; pattern is a great thing for summer because it will make your living room looks lively. Small floral pattern is one of the most popular for sunny days of summer. However; you basically can use any pattern you like for your colorful summer sofa. Just don't forget to harmonize so the living room will look beautiful and perfect.
But you don‘t have to worry about this because there are still many ways to let summer vibe enters your room even though colorful sofa is not your thing. You can choose sofa with neutral color. White; light brown; pastel pink; if you like it then just pick it. You can still give accent and colors to the sofa by putting some throw pillows. You can still get that summer spirit from the vibrant colored throw pillows without going too overboard for your liking.
