I think the round shape makes it feel like there’s much more floor space and feels balanced no matter how far it is from the corner of the sectional… And mom doesn’t have to go batty when it gets pushed askew by the littles. Suffice it to say, I love how our family room turned out. And I’m excited to share with you more details about the space…
So why does it feel like a risky move? "I think it's the same reason we often paint small spaces dark—which can feel counterintuitive but actually works so, so well in small rooms (den, powder room, etc.)," says designer Caroline Burke of Anna Burke Interiors. "A sectional can give you that maxed-out seating and help the room feel like a cozy nook, not a cramped back office."
Probably the only thing I might change if I had total control is I tend more towards warm grays than cool. Our walls, which are Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray, are my favorite – light gray with some warm tones – and our kitchen cabinets are a darker warm gray. The gray blue of the sectional really is beautiful (and actually complements our marble in the kitchen really well). I think it will be a very forgiving color: light enough to help the room feel bright (remember one of my goals?), but dark enough to hide the inevitable grime of young kids.
MILTON GREENS STARS STORAGE FUTON: A comfortable futon could be just as invigorating with "cozy" as a daybed. But this one has a secret tucked under its cushions. Milton Greens Stars Storage Futon is hiding a prosperity of storage just below the surface.
As mobile as it is with a weight of only 40 pounds it’s easy to get up also go to another room with it. Rearranging your family room is no longer a inconvenience as it shall be with bulky couches so enjoy the freedom of the LUCID Floor Sofa‐you deserve to!
