Along the way, I’ve spent countless hours searching for living room inspiration. In hopes of sparing my fellow silver fox owners (or aspiring owners!) a few hours of searching, I’m sharing some of my favorite living room design ideas.
Add vibrant splashes of color. As I mentioned earlier, gray is an all-star neutral. It serves as the perfect backdrop for bold, vibrant color. Just be sure to balance loud color with understated pieces, like the acrylic coffee table pictured here.
Let me start by stating the obvious to my regular readers: I’ve never really shown this room on the blog before. When we first moved in, we had the tv on a bench in front of the window, two oversized brown leather pieces floating opposite the tv, a bookcase tucked into the corner, and an old tufted ottoman in the center. They all looked beautiful in our old living room (where the tv hung on the wall above the fireplace), but in this room they were awkward and totally inefficient. The room felt cramped, and we could still only seat 4-5 people.
2. Move to the curtains: When summer comes; you will get more light than the previous season. Enjoying the softness of your colorful sofa will be perfect if you can get all the light. Take down your dark curtains and change it with a looser one. For a sample; you can use voile curtain. It is thin and wispy. However; if you feel that loose curtain is too open; you can trick your thick curtain with more colorful one.
5. Touch of flowers: Bringing the color to living room can be achieved to real flowers as well. Pick any flowers you like and put it to the corners or on the table in your room. Have it hanged is also a good choice. Flowers such as daffodils will elaborate floral arrangement and settle a nice feeling for your colorful summer sofa.
