LEATHER FUTON: I have "yet" to see a classier‐looking futon. Leather furniture seems to be most people's idea of the personification of luxury. It´s too second-rate that most leather furniture pieces are so expensive! Yet it‘s not so with this Leather Futon.

BENSEN‐SLEEPER SOFA: ´Simple´ as well as ‘elegant‘ are two words that come to mind when seeing this sofa bed. Bensen’s Sleeper Sofa Bed has a surprisingly silky form with tastefully modern design.

The Allegra Pillow‐Top Futon is a smaller than a full—size double bed so you’d have to be very good friends with anyone you shared with. But it's ideal for a kid's room.

Try echoing the shapes of your furnishings and creating a softer scheme with a circular ottoman tray instead... For circular ottomans, look to round trays that echo the shape of your furnishings for flowing lines and professional finish. This gorgeous scheme by Diane Bergeron combines a rounded ottoman with a circular tray displaying round dishes and a round vase for a trayscape that is visually striking.

Its uniqueness comes from the fact that the backrest has this slit down the center which basically splits it into two separate halves. It’s definitely an unusual way of suggesting the idea of comfort but it actually works. Moreover, this unexpected design detail makes this piece a great candidate for the title of cool accent chair. The fact that the tapered legs match the color of the upholstery is pretty nice and quirky too.

Of all the things that can be transformed into an ottoman, a galvanized wash tube is perhaps the most surprising. It makes a great rustic accent, though, and we love it. This has to be the cheapest material you can build an ottoman from. Can you believe a bunch of plastic bottles and carton is all it takes? And of course, fabric of your choice to make it pretty.

I still remember hunter green patterned velour, puffy back, reclining sectionals that completely dwarfed even the largest of rooms… and I shudder. But sectionals have come so far since I was a girl in the early 90’s. And I am thrilled to show you how a HUGE sectional was actually the answer to our rather-on-the-small-side family room.

Try the exact opposite, actually. The best sofas for small rooms turn out to be the biggest: sectionals! We realize this is a counterintuitive suggestion—Won't my itsy-bitsy room look totally cramped with a massive sectional in it?—but the best ideas so often are. "Sometimes using several small pieces can make a room feel cluttered," says Ashley Darryl, speaking about the sofa-chair-table cluster that's almost instinctive in a small living room.

Replace Small Ornaments with Something Brighter: Don‘t just focus on the big furniture. To make every single element matches well with each other; you also have to do something with the small ornaments. The table lamp; the small statue on the bookshelves; replace them with something more colorful.
