MULTIFUNCTIONAL SLEEPER SOFA BED: Honestly you could fit your "whole" living room décor into this Multifunctional Sleeper Sofa Bed from Duo‐bed. It’s both a storage item also comfortable lounge but it's the sofa's ability to change before your very eyes that got our attention.

ABC SOFA BED: The ABC Sofa Bed is "quite" grandiose when juxtaposed to similar items. But its modern soul "integrates" so beautifully with raw design that you couldn’t help but fall in love.

The role of an accent role in some cases is to become a visual focal point for the space and to direct the attention towards a particular spot. "I think it's the same reason we often paint small spaces dark—which can feel counterintuitive but actually works so, so well in small rooms (den, powder room, etc.)," says designer Caroline Burke of Anna Burke Interiors. They’re quirky and cozy, but the whimsical air of works by artist Porky Hefer belies the deeper meaning of the hanging seats he creates. From animal shapes to ovate seats woven from various materials, the “nests” that the South African artist designs are definitely conversation pieces. The materials he uses, the craftspeople who contribute their skills and the underlying inspiration make these more than simple hanging seats.

But for a big Texas house, where we regularly try to sit 10-12 adults, it’s not large either. The room is about 13’x13′ with two walls of huge windows (which I LOVE, but they do make furniture placement tricky) and – thanks to our fireplace renovation – one wall of cabinetry and fireplace. The fourth “wall” is open past the bar area to our kitchen table.

He has created works using kubu cane as well as used tires, leather, steel and raffia. His pieces celebrate the indigenous materials and crafting skills of Africa, which have proven to be fuel for his amazing human-sized creations.
